how high do you think is the percentage of non-gothic vamps…means people who dont have connections to the goff scene (like goin out to goth clubs and such)?

hm, is that because the styles are very similar, so if there are no vamps in someone’s area he can at least hang out with goths?
or is it because when you’re open to the one thing, you’re most likely also finding the other not too bad?i mean theres not a big difference, both scenes are most likely a bunch of nutcases with a few bearable people in between – but then there’s noone hanging online, pretending to be a goth… 8)

I would say that accurately describes most of humanity, not just the ‘goth scene’ – wouldn’t you?

Just thought I would put my opinion in on this one. I am a non-goth sanguinarian. I live in a small rural community and am much older than many who participate in that scene here in my area.
I think there are more nongoth vampyres out here than many may realize. I know of doctors, lawyers, nurses, etc.. who are all kin and brethren but do not participate in the gothic scene.
Sometimes a lifestyle does not allow one to participate in goth activities, but we are still very much out here.

:[ Well for me i live in L.A. California. Me and my friends like to go out and stuff. when we get all drunk some of my friends say that i get all easy and what not. We like to dress all gothy and stuff too. we go to the mall to see what is new in music and in fashion.

i agree with ^^. it is more important what you think than what you wear. i, myself, am a punky-gothy-whatever is comfy and/or black kinda person. i dont know anyone that knows about the vampyre thing at all, with even less hope for non-goths than anyone else. i dont know anyone else into the vampyre thing. :[

as a self-described “plain jane” vampyre maniac type, i can honestly say that there are a LOT of people out there who aren’t goths that are into vampyres. i’m one of them. then again, maybe it’s just me and the fact that i’m from a small midwest town where everyone knows everyone else and being different has major damage effect for families and individuals alike. ๐ sad but true.

probably im just used to see vamps in connection with goth since i live in a large city in germany, where the goth culture kinda swallowed everything, including the fetish and vamp scenes..
unfortunately this has the negative effect that most of these scenes do not develop to their full extent, but then you at least have more diversity in a club.
it seems amazing that japan has a respetable vamp scene while you dont hear anything from their goths, is it different from country to country?
-
Actually, Japan has a LARGE gothic culture…and getting bigger all the time.
Vampire is also popular…..especially in live action fetish-clubs.
IF I ever get it finished, I’m working on a page that will list some of the BEST gothic and VAMP sites in= Japan, Russia, Spain, etc……thank god they all speak english, because I e-mail with a lot of sites in these countries or we use translators…..One of my favorite little vamps is a beautiful lady called Tamaki Carmilla in Japan, and she does a vampire Dom show!
-
Sure i will.
Yeah…Google will get you to one or two….you have to get into the japanese network and just hit all sites and keep track to find them….but once you do, you’ll spend months!
Many of them use little cell-phone websites……….they have better technology than the rest of us and are 5-6 years ahead on such things….so the pics are small, but my son just got one of those phones…the photos are avatar size, but he uses the little video screen on his phone to download off satelite.
Sound cool?
NOT COOL………..I bought him the phone and pay $60 a month for it ๐ฅ -
Say…may i suggest something?
Would you be interested in opening a new thread section for goths/vamps of the world…a place to post cool links to other countries?
…here’s a link ๐

yeah if you watch alot of bootlegs in Japan there is always a huge turnout and alot of them look very gothic which does rock, whereas in the lonesome Dumfries there is very few lol, there’s mainly a big group of emos that get called goths by the passers by lol, then there’s me and my possy but we tend to keep clear of the town alot…
-
in japan they have very few actual goths. they’re more into gothlolli’s (gothic lolitas) and assorted cultures. It’s a different but in some aspects similar culture.
it was created as a reaction to the western goth culture , which has a lot of symbology and reference in style and music to older western cultural aspects. Since they lacked the western influence a bit they infused it with “typical” japanese aspects as well (the little girl image), mimicing dark versions of victorian style porcelain dolls or dark little girls. The men there just tend to dress to a more androgyn fashion and wear make-up to enhance that effect.well, that’s what i’ve dug up over the years on em anyways :s
