Well the song in the movie was sung by the lead singer from the Who, but initially done by Elton John. The song is about helping someone, even though they have been rejected by them for some reason. Anyway you look at it, " Sun going down", symbolises love or relationship falling. The film is about family and love conquering the darkness and prevailing from bad situations e.g. the mother's divorce and their financial situation. In this case of the lyrics fitting in with the movie, Sam rejects his brother because he has become a vampire, but helps him anyway because they are family. " We're bro's bud, we've gotta stick together " or whatever the lines are he said.
