This is ghosting. Maetro said something about increasing the time of inctivity for a member to half an hour. So, for 30 mins you won't be be to get back in.
Maestro can clear this up, he is Admin after all.

It happens to alot of the regular members so you're not alone with the problem.

the problem is either we have members bitch about getting kicked out of the chatroom for inactivity of over 30 mins or we have them bitch about the chatroom not automatically logging them out when they get inactive after closing the connection to the chat room

as you see we cant make everyone happy, get over it

it should in any case be possible to log back in even if your nickname sill appears in the chatroom list as the chatroom script anticipates people accidentially hitting a reload button and stuff like that, just try it out and tell me what happens

Hey at least you can get in the damn thing in the first place... for some reason, I don't know if it's a problem with Linux (or the version I am running?) or what is going on, but the last few times I tried to log into the chat room it showed my name as being there while I was stuck on the loading screen ... I never did get in (sorry necromancerza!) so don't complain when at least you got in there! Wait your 30 minutes and get back in....

Do you have a flash plugin installed?

The problem with the chatroom is that no chatroom can ever be absolutely foolproof - with all the different setups people come along with it´d need months to program a chat script that would cover all possibilities.

We could move that chat to Internet Relay Chat, there are programs to access it for every system out there - but i ran an irc channel for several years and know how much more of a pest it would be to provide the tech support to get people into that, so as unfortunate as it may be fore some, you will have to live with what we have now
