The one exception
Zitat von vincent_the_red am 14 August, 2006, 0034 UhrEarlier this evening, I was thinking to myself about the kinds of music that I dislike (and admittedly there are a few), and pretty much at the top of the list, is country. Having been born and raised in Texas of all places, it's a bit hard to live down the stereotype of everone wearing cowboy hats, boots with spurs, walking bow-legged, riding a horse everywhere you go, and saying "Howdy, pardner" to everyone that walks by. Not to mention the fact that my current President was governor of the state, (and the fact that I share his birthday..... Ugh......) there is the music stereotype I have to get over. For the longest time, I have always been around country music, and I have despised it. Oddly enough, through my attempt to break the boredom by searhing Newgrounds.com, I came across a (fan-made, I suppose) video of a song by a singer named Rodney Carrington. As I clicked to watch this video, I had no idea what to expect, as it was called "the real Dear Penis", and in the Author's comments, it states "Rodney Carrington sings a letter to his penis and his penis sings back". An interesting concept, no? I certainly thought so, as I watched this, and laughed my ass off at. Not only did the animation suit it perfectly, but the song itself was one of the funniest things I've ever heard. Upon a little investigating, it seems all of his music is similarly lewd, and (to my knowledge anyway,) is the only country singer with a "parental advisory" sticker on the cover. (Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, in any case.)
Anywho, I thought I would share this with you all, and possibly put a smile on your face, after having to read through my rant, if you happen to have read it all, in any case. ;)

Zitat von thesunsetter am 14 August, 2006, 0352 UhrHaha!!!!! I have to watch that video soon, my little brother's in the room just now so tisn't the best of ideas, but I will tonight. Well a parental advisory sticker on country music *faints* wow, well I'm not a country fan atall but moreover I hate uber commercial music, expecially rap, and emo music, stuff like that, there's a film coming out called "The Inside Job" which i'd recomend to everyone tis really cleverly made, anyway it shows a kid playing 50 Cent's video games, and it really struck me how he can release something like that and people still have respect for him. It's like GTA but even shitter, where you get points for killing people, dealing drugs etc, not really something you want kids to think is right, but I guess tis obvious alot of kids do...
