As this forum is pretty dead recently i’m going to revive it with a few questions.

the first one is: do you like the new appearance of “the entity formerly known as the sanguinarium”?

The largest of all vampyre associations has vanished about a year ago..some people are still there, only now they are following some other groups, from Clan Sabretooth to the Order of Strigoi Vii the founders have changed their plans so often noone could really get a hold of the lastest developments before they were outdated again…now the confusion stopped as development stopped..or hasnt it? with so many new splinter cells noone knows exactly whats goin on..or do you?
Do you like the new layout or not, do you care at all?

Personally, couldn’t care, but then I’ve never gone for all this “group” crap. Sanguinarium always seemed to cater for the “dress-up” vampires, something I have no part or interest in, so never really cared much for the site, the groups or Sabertooth… plus there seems to be a lot of offline hostility and “stories” surrounding the folsk who run it off line, I seen the Strigoi Vii mentioned about, but again, it seemed more aimed at the “ooo I’m lestat” brigade and so never really checked up on it or learned more.

To be quite honest the whole damned lot of them can disappear up their own ass. Which, funnily enough seems to be where they are headed.

If things have stopped in development of the Strigoi Vii growth, then I can say they have hit their limit. Which means, they will probably end up falling apart, and something else will rise to take the Strigoi Spot.

If it happens to stay around, yet, no real change is given, then I can assume stagnicity has set in. In which, people, of around the world, have fallen into. Things, as much as people think, do not change without an active will in its change. Most blame TV, Video Games and such on people being fat, which isn’t the case, its the fact they became stagnant. Not willing to push themselves to do things, which will keep them changing, keep them growing.

The whole probem with them is the simple fact they are to set on trying to change, in which, they have probably fallen into a type of stagnicity.

I personally, like a bit of what I read from their books, but I like to do my own discovering and find what I like the most about something, and explore it more. If the Synode or Strigoi, or what the hell ever they are, do disappear, oh well. Just means I will have to wait for the next group to step up, so I can look into what they study and preach, take what I like from their teachings, then move on and form my own ideals and theories.

Tend to disagreee, I don’t think they’ll disappear. The problem (at least this is how I see it) is that Michelle has been too damned popular with her stuff. The Strigoi lot are desperately playing catch-up trying to create their own psychic-vampire mythos to wrap around the idea.

I think I saw a post to the HK Yahoo! group from Todd, explaining the Strigoi side was more more theatrical and used props, whereas HK rituals were a lot more internal. Each appeals to different people but I think HK’s method had a greater “draw”, both from those who did indulge in the lifestyle but also those who did not.

To me it seems like Strigoi is trying to now create this kind of half-religious crap that HK has. Note their big mention of the Black Veil, now that MB’s touting herself as a co-author at every opportunity, its mention on CSI and on SCI-FI thanks to Don Henrie.

Just remember, when you buy into Strigoi/House Kheperu, you are buying into a mythos that exists solely in the mind of Todd or Michelle Belanger. They created it all together to help sell books and save them getting a day job.

i thought the veil mentioned she was in the same country when they rewrote it, havent heard her claim to be one of the original authors (beeing T and…someone) ..?

However history seems to change often in those circles anyway.
