Furtherdown is reporting about a find on aversion.com backed by the sisters website: obviously the Sisters of Mercy plan a new album after 15 years of silence:
The Sisters of Mercy are inching toward breaking a 16-year absence from the studio, though plans for quickly released singles are on hold.
The seminal Goth outfit is at work on its first full-length since 1990’s Vision Thing (Elektra), according to posts on the band’s website. No details on the new record were given, though it revealed it had severed its relations with East West Records.
A series of independently released singles was planned to launch with “Summer,” which would feature the title track, backed with a remix and another unnamed song. For reasons undisclosed, the band abandoned plans for singles.
