the problem with your questions and especially with the constant "why" are that most of our communties grew tired of answering them, as the only thing giving answers will lead to are even more why's

in short there are multiple reasons people might have for donating other people their blood, be it for pure sexual arousal or to deepen a bond between the two..etc.

It is NOT to be confused with self harm which mostly is a result of depression or an overall bad psychological condition ( or result of a kind of "fad" in the goth scene where wannabe's cut themselves to show everyone the misery they claim to live through - but this is not to be taken serious and mostly stops with the age of 16)

but most things You described as self harm are in fact no self "harm" - in the clinical sense of harm maybe yes, as the body gets "harmed", but i doubt SM people who love to get whipped look for a counterweight for their psychological imbalance! :D
People generally like raw sex - some just like it as raw as it can get :twisted:

I personally try and look at things with an open minded view, and this was just another attempt to try and understand something that i dont.

Personally i dont see how letting blood can relate to deepening a relationship, as for sexual arousal, i also can not contemplate this, but these are my views.

Well many people regard the blood as the primary place where your bodies energy is stored, by giving your blood to someone else you give a part of yourself to someone else.
Your partner is normally just your partner while your child is your "flesh and blood" - if your partner has your blood he's by that definition more than a normal partner, no?

The sexual arousal might come from the fact that having raw animalic sex with a predator that doesnt see more than prey in you seems to be a quite nice thing for some ;)

It's the same as SM, some like to get whipped the shit out of them, some other dont even like if you touch them too hard, people have different tastes and this is one of them

as for the explanation of why letting blood can deepen a relationship, i can understand that, its a way of sharing something vital with a loved one, and you cant get more vital than blood, oh wait, there is oxygen, CPR anyone?
