The problem with Wired is that no person who spends even 5 minutes a day off the internet knows which of their hypes is something worth following and which article is just a “we knew about it” cover-your-ass story incase something unexpectedly hits the masses.
So next to all the blatant Apple fanboyism (did you knew the IPhone can do your laundry?) and clear editor failures (if they even have such a person – turning your columns into “blogs” is obviously a good way to get rid of unwanted things like paid staff positions and journalistic integrity all at the same time) about one million new fads surface every single day.
One of them is twitter. Obviously some social netclogging tool to supply whoever wants to know with status updates of whatever nature. I’ve recently set up an account there to see what the heck it is, but for the hell of it i can’t seem to find out what the benefit behind having even more myspace-ish status reports in your face is supposed to be.
Probably some of our more knowledgable readers ( you ) can help me:
What could it possibly be good for?
