ad space

Zitat von maestro am 22 Juni, 2006, 1045 UhrAlright, Google AdSense does bring us a few bucks, the disadvantage is it will be paid out once we gain $100 and we need about a year to get there at the current rate.
Since i want to buy this uber cool thing for the website that coincidentially costs exactly a hundred bucks too, but i dont want to wait a year, i had a thought or two:
Or dear friends over at necrotica.net sell adspace, fixed ad banners.
Customers sign up for it and have their ad placed on the website for 100000 impressions or something like that and pay a few bucks for it. Few bucks for them, because $10/month would double our ad income! Now let's have a look at the motivation people would have for buying ads on our website:
In earlier times i would have considered VTK too small to be subject to directly placed ads, but consider the necrotica.net stats and have a small peek at our own stats - while that stats script is unreliable, one can guess as both are the same script they're similarly unreliable.
We kick their ass.So, shall we further cripple along with the google ads or find a scheme to get low cost permanent ads?

Zitat von necromancerza am 22 Juni, 2006, 1333 UhrWell we are a more accredited site then them .
So If they can do it .. so can we.
As I said Maestro ..For better features we need more LOOT
So with that said ..
Bring forth the addspace 🙂
Unless anyone wants to Camwhore for VTK.

Zitat von maestro am 27 Juni, 2006, 1900 UhrEmail some of the record labels and magazines. Talk to their PR departments in a "what if" capacity.
Write up an email, saying you are doing research and thanking them for any time they could spare. Tell them a bit about the site, how many visitors per day, how many unique IPs a month and that you are offering to sell Ad space. Ask them if they do online advertising, how much they'd pay for that kind of exposure etc, as if you are getting them involved in the process, not selling directly to them.
Hopefully you get some interested parties, even if not, you should get some honest ideas about viability and prices you could charge.
While Necrotica *DO* offer advertising space, nearly everything advertised is related to Necrotica or Necrotica affiliates, leaving me to believe no-one's actually paying for it. I may well be wrong though.
Best bets, like I say are record labels (Projekt, Metropolis, etc) that are heavily into online business and also magazines (Gothic Beauty).
If you want me to ask around and draft something up, lemme know.

Zitat von maestro am 28 Juni, 2006, 0313 UhrSounds good, especially since necrotica have taken down all ad offers, leaving me without a price to start with. Are they also related to the mechanicalbunny site?
Plainly said i have no idea what to charge for what quantity at least, not to speak of where to start finding customers. Only considered it to be quicker than adsense to build up some money to buy a blog hosting script. Stop me if you think that idea sucks and we should stay relatively ad free. But if you want to investigate there by all means go on, might be of benefit for FD too and i'm having a hard time sounding official recently, lack of language pratice doesnt help me there.
Plus i still have two galleries to photoshop 🙄
