Freedom of speech. Yea, where shall we begin.
Have you ever noticed that the majority allways have more freedom of speech?
Freedom of speech is only accepted untill it starts stepping on anothers “human rights” where a person might feel offended. In your blog you have a image of a banner which the protestors use. Now what could their angle possably be? They are trying to use shock methods to accuire support. How about you make a banner of …. lets say … “People against penis amputation” then get a really graphic chop chop banner and go stand right next to them,
Protestors have way too much time on their hands, Why dont they just get 2nd jobs and start organisations where they can give actual support to their cause , with banners like ” Dont abourt .. well take it off your hands”.
This is starting to feel like homework! 😉
Ok I found the spelling errors 😛 what do I win? 😈 (which is bad because I’m not english)
Thanks .. i would hate to have to get myself one of these self back tapper thingamabobs .. must be expencive, it is quite high tech.
Cold,
I really enjoyed your blog, and you make a valid argument… although it more than likely will be lost on the explosive topic… which seems to draw everyone into it like a vortex.. lol
In my opinion those people have the right to show those images or post their point on public ground.. perhaps the issue is with the college which allowed them to set up there ?
Is everyone allowed to set up on campus? makes me wonder what they would ban …perhaps the KKK? a group that believed the holocoust didnt happen ??
I would like to know the policy on whats allowed on campus..
but I do think when our founding fathers considered FOS they had no idea of the things that would come up concerning it..
an interesting point is when its used for no more than to anger or hurt a person or group..
we can be sure that was not what the writers intended..
and that person with the I support the right to choose… but I am against abortion ??
I am glad you called them on that.. 😯

It’ not the inages themselves I have a problem with, more the motive for using them. It’s all scare tatics so coerise the gulllible into beliveing whatever spoon fed garbage you want them to believe. I’m not saying that every one who uses a graphic image is guilty of this, but the vast majority probably. The people with the abortion protest, I have another issue with entirely. They did it to ‘open up an open discussionbut it was really nothing more than trying to make everyone sho was pro choiec feel guilty about it. The debate was very one sided and they (protesters) wouldnt even answer any questions but instead differed them with questions of their own.
Just a afterthought.
Would they object to a pro abortion group setting up shop there and handing out leaflets of babies dying of starvation or neglect, because the mother who would have aborted , was to guilty to do so, but also does not have the funds or the enviroment to raise a child.
Testemony of mother : While I was out working the streets to make money to look after my babie, my pimp took her and sold her into the nigerian sextrade slave market. I sould have aborted”
Institutions are swayed to public oppinion. When a subject is taken to be the wider public’s oppinion, organisations then to promote these concepts. What i`m saying is that because there is no public majority outcry against these protestors your campus will view them as being right.
If they say : ” But we put signs up saying there is explicid content ahead”
You say : ” It is a public area, I want to walk past there without being harrased and having to avert my eyes”
Well that is my point. Public opinion dictates institution policies.
hmmm .all of what has been posted here is true… and kinda sad. That something can not really be just what people believe in, but a motive behind it all??? we can all agree the best way to get someone to really pay attention is to scare, shock, or threaten them …
which is how most groups get attention .. IE: fake blood thrown on fur wearers?? dolls with fake blood at abortion protests ?? peta is notorius for the shock value… and time has shown it does get attention of some sort… LOL good and bad…
and this brings to mind the whole mess going on here in Texas… with the fundamental mormon church…
was it a deliberate consitutional violation? or a real ” rescue ” of people that needed it???
I know its a bit off topic , I can start another thread if you think I should…. but I would like to hear opinions on this subject…
so for all those not in the states…… GOOGLE and give an opinion … and everyone else who has a comment.. please do so…

How about you fill me in? I`ll have no idea what to google for.
