It has been a while since I did this so I thought I might lend a hand and get it rolling again…. and so to you my good fellows I give you this…

Alone…
I walk this path before be alone,
To my left and right vast spaces open before me,
Full of uncharted territory, taunting me, teasing me,
They beg me to explore their world, to stray from this path, I travel.
Before long off in the distance,
Some one will come to stand upon the horizon,
They will travel this path, but only for a short while,
All the while they urge me to join them.
Soon they leave and once again,
I walk … Alone
In their absence, I soon find myself lacking,
I turn inward for comfort only to find none.
It is in this moment that I make a secret confession to myself,
Coward …that I am.
For in truth I would turn from this path and run head long into the setting of the sun.
As it dips below the hills that cover those expanses.
Yet my feet remain planted upon the path so familiarly trodden
It is in this cowardice I continue down the path whilst watching the companion I so long for fade into the sunset.
Afraid I wonder onward,
Never straying from the comfort of this path
Some where, some how I have chosen this, and so it is
That I shall walk…
Alone…
