After attending University for a double-major in Religion and Cultural Anthropology, I learned something amusing that pertains to any and every organized (and disorganized) religion one might want to know about: A PERSON CAN ACTUALLY LEARN ABOUT IT if they pick up a book or speak to someone who knows! I am not an adherant to any major (or minor) religion, however I studied Religion in general (along with "the way humans behave" as I think of Cultural Anthropology) to learn about all of the various things I didn't know.

"Who do I go to become one" .... I suggest sacraficing a virgin (18+, to me, on Wednesday, preferably dressed in either black lingerie of some sort or a translucent snow-white peignoir) and reciting the Lord's Prayer backwards... I hear that always works. :roll:

Seriously, tho.... why not search out info on it (it is a registered, legal, mass religion) prior to posting a thread on VTK... I hate to be the one to break it to you, but Satanism is not about being evil and bad and doing as much bad stuff as you can. Yes, there are people out there who think they are the be-all and end-all of EVIL because they run around saying "I hate God! I love Satan! Hail fekking Satan!!" however those people are idiots, and know nothing of what the idea behind Satanism really is. I may not be a Satanist (or a Christian or any other religious adherant), however I do have respect for the true idea behind the Church of Satan, and the mindset that inspired it... which was not "OOOH I AM SOOO EVIL!!!"

Before any one jumps the gun here, First its important to understand or figure out just wich kind of satanist religion your delving into here.

there are two essntial diffrences in the two, there is the levain satanist, of which necro has kindly posted probably one of the best rescorses availible to some one who is looking into that particular path, I have known several levain satanists and they have all been very agreeable people, however; there is of course the second kind of satanist, the full fledged satan worshiper " haven't meet one of these " those who worship satan as god.

and yes i know the next thought that comes to mind is they are the same thing, eghh no there not and a levain satanist will tell you this right off the bat. Levain satanists do not nessicerily worship satan as god, its more along the idea or concept of what satan is " hard to understand unless you read levay's book"

well enough about my ranting....ill just leave with this, find out which one your looking at and then research it, dont choose and learn later, learn now choose later,

Okay, Im a former "bad kind" of Satanist. I also have studied Laveys Satanism extensively. Let me just say this, you dont want to go there, trust me. Let me pose some questions to you that may clear things up for you, by the way if you answer yes to any of these the kind of Satanism you describe in your posts is not for you.

1. Do you value the life of your first born, or any childs life?

2. Are you queasy around LOTS of blood?

3. Are you willing to be truly ostracized by everyone one you know?

I could go on and on about this topic. Asking all sorts of questions your answer would be most likely yes to. The "bad kind" of Satanism, which is what you describe, is not for anyone. However, if you wish to worship the self, study Lavey's works.

To Fizz : First I agree with the guest post - do some research before you jump into something you can not control. There are legit satanic groups and then there are not legit groups. It's a fine line between them both. By personal experience it's not all that it is cracked up to be. Like the guest post you need to ask yourself some realistic questions like

Am I a Killer? Can I kill without guilt?

Do I like looking over my shoulder all the time?

If you think you got what it takes then by all means go for it. But a real satanic group is not like you see in the movies. Be careful and Be aware!
