Podcasts are regular ( weekly, daily or anything) appearing video or sound broadcasts, like columns in newspapers.
You can play them with your computer but you can also take it away on your ipod and listen to them in the car or watch the video in the subway - which is why it might be called podcast. Or because it's not a 24/7 broadcast but rather small independent "pods" of stuff you can arrange with other pods to fill your way to work with interesting information about both ninjas and facts about star science.
