Chaos theory!
Zitat von necromancerza am 5 April, 2008, 1207 UhrIn mathematics and physics, chaos theory describes the behavior of certain nonlinear dynamical systems that may exhibit dynamics that are highly sensitive to initial conditions (popularly referred to as the butterfly effect). As a result of this sensitivity, which manifests itself as an exponential growth of perturbations in the initial conditions, the behavior of chaotic systems appears to be random. This happens even though these systems are deterministic, meaning that their future dynamics are fully defined by their initial conditions, with no random elements involved. This behavior is known as deterministic chaos, or simply chaos.
Thanks wiki
So anyone want to know what that means or are we all waaaay to intellectual for that?

Zitat von maestro am 5 April, 2008, 1457 UhrSince i get all my high-level smalltalk topics out of pop-culture movies i'll kindly refer to Dr. Ian Malcom's perfect "people suddenly jumping out of moving vehicles" example for chaos theory.
Now i'm sitting here babbling all about Jurassic Park in the last post of this thread, until someone else maybe kicks me off my throne with an even more senseless reply - now THAT's chaos theory

Zitat von necromancerza am 6 April, 2008, 1216 UhrIt's all about decimals 😉
It's all about decimals 😉
Zitat von insidedistuo am 25 April, 2008, 0101 UhrI thought I posted a very scientific , deep response to this post.,.. 😯
strange I dont see it...
well, perhaps my answer was too deep and explained the subject to the level that a normal person ... could not even see it... yes, its rather common ... * sigh... I need to work on that.. dealing with mortals can be SO tedius..... LOL

Zitat von withdrawalfx am 20 Mai, 2008, 1626 Uhrbasicly it means (I think...) that every action, as small as it may seem causes a massive change in how shit will work out in the future. Everything is in chaos but chaos in itself is an order, just as with order when you shove something the rest is shoved aside aswell, creating a new order or in this case, a new chaos which will have it's own effects on the world.
If I remember correctly it also means that even if you know all the variables there are to know in the universe and you could theoreticl predict he future that would be negated as well because of you knowing all the variables and the future you automaticly act on that and change what you think you know to be the future into something else...
or something like that...you following? :borg:

that will be all because im sure thats its only somewhat related maybe because i only read some of the posts kinda halfway through because i cant focus right now but im bored som i am not going to wait until i can focis to post a reply. if this gets deletes then o well i entertained mysel for a minute or two.

Zitat von necromancerza am 22 Mai, 2008, 1031 UhrWell it is all maths and the fact that you can be sure to never get to the correct answer. Well thats if you are working with nature maths.
When calculating an outcome of an event or process people tend to drop the decimals eg. 5.45 becomes 5.5 but this goes further suggesting that not only is 5.5 incorrect but 5.45 is also incorrect. This is all due to the fact that 5.45 has a never ending sequence of decimals after the 5 or even repetative into infinity.
With this they have figured that 5.4545 gives a different answer than 5.45 thus changing the final outcome of a answer. We can not account for infinite decimals therefore we can be sure that any in-depth calculation will be incorrect regardless of corrections made.
5.5 X 10 = 55
5.45 X1 0 = 54.5
5.4545 X 10 = 54.545
5,45454545454545454545454545(to infinity) X 10 = Nobody knows
