Dears Amphi fans,
get ready for the festival event of the year! The countdown has begun as the starting shot for the V. Amphi Festival 2009 – The Orkus Open Air is breaking the silence, only few days from now. To genuinely celebrate our first jubilee, we pulled all levers throughout the past months in order to present you an unbeatable program for the weekend from 18th till 19th July 2009.
Legendary heroes, current top-acts, fresh newcomers and hand-picked musical gems guarantee the finest live-experience! Altogether 34 bands, including the Fields of the Nephilim and Front 242 as headliners, are waiting for you on two stages. Amongst others you also rock with The Gathering, Eisbrecher, Unheilig and KMFDM, while an irresistible electro-blast including Feindflug, Hocico, Agonoize and Leæther Strip with an Europe-wide exclusive festival show are firing up a gigantic party. Before the countdown runs up and the musical tour de force starts, we´d like to share some final information with you, regarding some organisational matters of the Amphi Festival 2009:
New: Wristband exchange and ticket sales on Friday
For visitors arriving on Friday, we arranged a special wristband-exchange. By presentation of your festival ticket at the Tanzbrunnen´s box office on Friday 17.07.2009 between 18:00 und 22:00 o’clock, you have the opportunity to acquire your festival wristband. It´s also possible to buy tickets for an increased price at the day´s box office. The opening hours and prices of our day´s box office can be found at the end of this newsletter! For organizational matters media partners and vip-guests are not able to acquire their wristbands and photopasses on Friday. The press check-in and guestlist will only be opened on Saturday and Sunday!
Travelling to the Amphi Festival 2009
For travelling by car, we again offer you free parking-spaces in short distance to the Tanzbrunnen. The access is leading over the Deutz-Mülheimer Straße through gate “F†and “S†to the parking areas P1 and P3. Please follow the directions of the exhibtion’s visitor guidance system (‘Messe-Verkehrsleitsystem’) saying “Parkplatz Amphi Festival”. The parking lots are available from Saturday 06:00 o’clock in the morning until Monday 08:00 o’ clock in the morning.
When you´re travelling by train, please take the commuter trains departing from Cologne´s main station (lane 10) to Deutz/Messe (1 station ride). After arriving at “Deutz/Messe†station you reach the Tanzbrunnen Köln easily on foot (approximately. 500 m) following the pedestrian markers ‘Köln-Messe’, or by bus (Line 150).
Flight travellers are suggested to take the commuter line 13 from airport Köln/Bonn to “Deutz/Messe“ station (duration approximately 15 minutes), from there follow the pedestrian direction markers ‘Köln-Messe’. The address of the Tanzbrunnen Cologne is Rheinparkweg 1, 50679 Köln, Germany.
Travelling information for the Amphi Camp – Jugendpark Cologne
For the first time we have an official Amphi Camp at the beautiful Jugendpark Cologne this year. The camp´s check-in counter will be opened throughout the following hours:
Friday 17.07.2009, 16:00 pm till Saturday 18.07.2009, 22:00 pm
Sunday 19.07.2009, 07:00 am till 18:00 pm
Please hold your camping- and festival ticket ready. Owners of camping tickets, in combination with Amphi Festival weekend or day tickets, will receive their, camping- and festival wristband together at the check-in. Without a camping-ticket the festival wristband cannot be acquired here!
For travelling by car, we suggest an approach to the Amphi-Camp via the „Hafendammbrücke“, coming from the “Hafenstraßeâ€. We have to emphasize once more, that, for environmental issues, motorvehicles of any kind (including campervans) are not allowed inside the camping area. A parking-lot for campers lies directly beside the bridge, leading towards the camping area. The address of the carpark is Hafenstraße 10, 51061 Cologne, Germany.
For travelling by public transfer, please take bus lane 150 from „Deutz/Messe“ to the„Thermalbad“ station and follow the guidance signs from here to the check-in. Current public transfer schedules can be found at: http://www.kvb-koeln.de/german/fahrplan/aushangfahrplaene6.html.

Official Amphi Festival pre-party at “Alter Wartesaal†Cologne!
For a decent warm-up you must not miss the official Amphi Festival Pre-Party on Friday 17.07.2009 at Cologne´s “Alter Wartesaalâ€. Beginning at 21:00 o’clock DJ Elvis (The Memphis) and his team are awaiting you on two floors in order to attune you to the great days ahead. As a special goodie there will be a test screening of the new AND ONE Live-DVD and mastermind Steve Naghavi himself has announced his appearance to the party.
Meanwhile area 1 features the famous “DEPECHE MODE PARTY FOR THE LIVING†with its DepecheMode-Synthiepop-Bodypop-Futurepop-80s Sound by DJ Elvis. With area 2 you subscribe to the SLEEPWALKER NIGHT and the full package of EBM-Industrial-Wave-Darkelectro-Cybergoth with DJ Frank & DJ Dimi.
Also expect a special laser show, DVD-projections, a big lottery with Amphi Festival tickets, t-shirts and cd´s, as well as various Amphi artist appearances, celebrating the dawning of the festival, together with you.

Youth protection at the Amphi Festival 2009
Latest information on youth protection can be found at: http://www.amphi-festival.de/2009/informationen.html. For adolescents above 16 years and under 18 years of age we also have a special authority form available, by which your parents are entitled to transfer their parental custody to one of your companions, being at least 18 years of age. By this warrant you are safe to attend the festival without problems until the agreed time.
Amphi Festival Shop closes ticket pre-sales for the Amphi Festival 2009:
We also have to inform you, that our Amphi Festival ticket shop will only take orders for the Amphi Festival 2009 until the end of Sunday 12.07.2009! As the tickets would not be guaranteed to arrive in time the online ticket portal http://www.dark-ticket.de, as well as our 24h ticket hotline +49 (0)1805 – 568200 will close their pre-sales on Sunday evening too.
After Sunday 12.07.2009 you can still obtain Amphi Festival Tickets on all nationwide CTS/EVENTIM, Kartenhaus and Ticket-Online box offices, or the day´s box office for an increased price.
